In tech marketing, visibility isn’t about being the loudest voice in the room. It’s about showing up where it matters, with the right message, at the right time. This is especially true for niche communities, like tech and developer circles, where attention isn’t bought, it’s earned. Traditional marketing tactics, such as display ads or broad email campaigns, often fail to resonate with these audiences. But there’s one approach that still delivers when done thoughtfully: smart sponsorship.
Sponsorships often have a mixed reputation. Too many are passive gestures, a logo on a slide, a mention at the end of a talk, a banner in the background. In tightly-knit communities, that just doesn’t cut it. These audiences value substance over surface. If you want to engage meaningfully, you need to contribute, not just advertise. That’s why, at Erichsen Consulting, we approach sponsorships as genuine partnerships. We carefully consider who we support and why, making sure our involvement adds real value to the conversation.

A great example of this in action is our collaboration with Azure Malaga, a thriving community of cloud professionals, developers, and tech enthusiasts in southern Spain led by Jesús Estévez Caparrós. While it may be local, the community has an impressive international reach, reflecting Malaga’s growing tech scene, entrepreneurial spirit, and rising population of remote workers. Azure Malaga hosts events with speakers from companies like Microsoft, fostering knowledge sharing and connecting professionals across the cloud and tech ecosystem. For us, sponsoring this initiative isn’t about flashy campaigns or logo placement; it’s about relevance and alignment with our values.
Through our support, we aim to contribute practically with what we do best: digital marketing and business growth. This has included Google visibility, website improvements, LinkedIn consulting and posts, and creating content that benefits the community. In other words, our involvement is hands-on. It’s this kind of engagement that strengthens relationships, builds credibility, and reinforces brand visibility in a meaningful way. And the results speak for themselves: higher engagement, positive feedback from participants, and genuine recognition within the community, all while supporting the growth of the tech ecosystem in Malaga. Alongside Sector Alarm and other sponsors, our work highlights the value of thoughtful, action-driven partnerships.

From April to September, Azure Málaga achieved significant LinkedIn growth with Erichsen Consulting’s support despite longer periods without posting (only sharing others’ content). Over six months, the page grew from 479 to 690 followers, a 44% increase, and September delivered a major rebound in performance: impressions jumped 153% compared to August, engagement rose 212%, page views doubled, and unique visitors increased by 153%.
These results highlight the strong brand interest and the effectiveness of our content strategy.

At the end of the day, effective sponsorship doesn’t feel like marketing at all. It feels like showing up consistently, being genuinely helpful, and contributing to something that matters instead of pushing for quick wins. When a brand shows up this way, it starts to build trust naturally, because people can see the value rather than being told to believe in it.
That’s the approach we’ve taken with Azure Malaga, where the focus has always been on education, community benefit, and real conversations rather than promotion. By investing time, knowledge, and presence, we’ve found that visibility becomes a byproduct instead of the goal. The same principles apply to any brand looking to build lasting credibility in tech and entrepreneurial communities: be useful, be consistent, and be there for the long term.
